SANDRA REEVES: Copper sculptures

'X' Chromosome commissioned by Great Ormond Street Hospital

The X Chromosome is constructed around a very heavy gauge copper wire armature, this is then encapsulated within a hand-beaten and soldered skin of copper sheet and foil - this in turn is covered in 190 metres of intricately hand-formed copper wire. The sculpture is mounted on an antique table top.
